A Brief Article regarding Stereotypical Teenage Problems

By: Obama Osvald

There are many phases that a person may go through in his or her lifetime, the first of which is infancy, involving the total dependency on the mother. After that comes childhood, where the baby grows into a toddler and learns how to walk, talk, feed himself as well as make his own decisions. All the fundamental lessons are taught to the child at his age, and this is also the time where he asks the most questions. After this childhood phase then comes the teenage phase, which in its entirety occurs from late childhood into young adulthood. Teenagers are often very problematic with regards to their identities, circle of friends and what they wish to spend their time on.

Because teenagers have not had enough experience with dealing big problems that are often encountered by adults, they will usually be immobile when faced with huge responsibilities. This happens so often that it has in fact become forgivable for them to commit irresponsible mistakes in their efforts of trying to run away from the threatening severity of reality and to go back in search of their blissful childhood. Inevitably, they will have to accept the fact that they are about to become grow-ups so they will need to act more responsibly. Examples of conflict that they may encounter are:

. Monthly period - If you ask any woman of any age about what it felt like to have her first period, then chances are that she will still be able to remember some details, because of the significance of an experience of bleeding painlessly. The pain you get from PMS is far from what you would get from a bleeding wound.

. Group rape - Usually, teenagers are very unmindful of their actions and the consequences that might arise from them. A teenager should be taught the right methods of dealing with their sexual urges so that they don't end up ruining the lives of others with rape.

. Self-harming - Depression is a probably cause for self-harming behavior in teenagers, because pain in the body somehow alleviates pain in the emotions. However common this occurs, it should still be taken seriously by any adult because such behavior is likely to become suicidal.

. Internet bullies - With cyberspace being used as a tool to communicating in real time without meeting in real space, we are offered with loads of opportunities. Unfortunately, some crooks use this opportunity to exploit on innocent individuals and bully them for their own pleasure.

. Clubs with violent rituals - A teenager may possibly feel in dire need of company that he or she may go to such great lengths as undergoing violent rituals of a certain club just for the sake of acceptance. These teenagers must be taught of the unnecessity of this, and also of the other alternatives available.
