Flash Tutorials

By: Jack Jonsonny

There are douzins of Adobe Flash and AS3 books on the internet. For me it was easier to just follow some flash tutorials. First of all let's get to know Flash: Adobe Flash is a media platform that used to develop animation, video, and interactivity for Web pages, beeing the most common program used for developing interactice web sites. Adobe Flash is beeing oft used for games and advertisements, and more recently it has been marked as a tool for RIAs, meaning Rich Internet Applications.

Flash handles raster and vector graphics to provide animation of text, drawings, and still images. It sustains 2-way streaming of video and audio, and it can capture user input via microphone, camera, mouse and keyboard. The best thing about Flash is: it contains an Object-oriented scripting language called ActionScript shorty known AS, with which early flash developers could attach an easy command, called "action", to a frame or a button. It is a dialect of ECMAScript, that means that it haves the same semantics and syntax of the more widely known JavaScript, and and it's mainly use is for the development of webpages. At the begining it was designed for manipulating 2D vector animations made in Adobe Flash. The first versions of Flash content were initially concetrated on animation providing a couple of interactivity features and as a result it had very limited scripting capability.

Flash content might be seen on various computer systems and devices, using Adobe Flash Player, which is available for download for free for the most popular Web browsers, many mobile phones and many other electronic devices.

Flash is not that hard to learn once you get to know the basics so I can tell you that the best resource is google. First of all you need to know where to find some great flash tutorials or where to find the answers to your question.. Flash Component.net has a great flash tutorials section Here You can also search for some more advanced flash tutorials like how to create XML driven gallery.

The word XML stands for Extensible Markup Language and it was designed to store and transport data and it`s a mark-up language similar to HTML .. The big difference between this languages is that HTML was designed to display data. Both languages work with data but one is one is for displaying data and one is for transport, Extensible Markup Language was not made to replace the other. Maybe a little thathard to understand, but XML does not do anything, XML was made to structure, store, and transport information. Like Hypertext Markup Language, XML has tags but in HTML tags are predefined, in XML you have to make your own tags. Simply follow the flash tutorials I was talking you about and you will also be able to establish a XML driven Flash component.

If you are really serious about getting into flash you should be very good in this field in no-time. Also, you should stay up-to-date with the latest versions of AS3 by visiting the Adobe webpage . In this way, you will be capable to notice the latest developments.
