How to Know if Your Windows PC is Infected with Spyware

I know why you are here reading this article. Your Windows machine is acting a little bit wonky. You just can't get past the fact that there is something wrong with your PC. Let me help you know what is happening to your PC.

Do you know what adware or spyware is? These are malicious software that invades your PC. They can do a lot of things like delete your data or steal your information. When you are worried about your PCs security, you need to be sure that no adware is in your system. There are a lot of programs you can download if you want to remove spyware and adware from your system.

How can you learn if your PC is infected with spyware? The first thing that you will notice is an extremely slow computer that can barely function. A slow computer can either have spyware infection or disk fragmentation. Remember that adware and spyware are also programs. Your system will get infected with these applications as they spread rapidly in your Windows install.

If you notice any unauthorized or unfamiliar program launch itself during start up, this is a sign that your PC is most probably infected with adware and spyware. It will be very hard to remove a malicious program when it starts up with your system. I'm not saying that it is improbable to remove it. Now, when your PC starts emailing other people, this is almost a sure fire sign that you are infected with adware and spyware. I recall a time when my firewall was alerting me every few minutes that Outlook was sending emails to my contact list. There is only one way to fight unauthorized emailing and that is by disconnecting making your PC into a glorified calculator.

This is where malware scanning software can help you. If your PC is already infected then download a spyware scanner using your USB drive. It is a known fact that malware prevent scanners from starting up, so it is wise to use an USB drive. Using an USB drive, scan your system with it. Restart your PC when the instructions of the scanner says that you do so.

When you have an extremely slow computer chances are your PC might be infected with adware and spyware. When there is no real reason why your computer slows down to a crawl after just a few minutes of use, the real culprit must be malicious code operating in the background. When surfing the web be sure that you have updated Windows service pack and the latest spyware scanners.
