Among the many stages of a human being's life, the one that is regarded as the most sensitive and personality-defining is the teenage stage. Because the teenager is already equipped with all the elementary knowledge of self-provision and independence, he will most likely which to learn more about the nature of his existence. What makes this a sensitive phase is that the teenager begins to ask a lot of questions regarding his identity and purpose in life. This overload of uncertainty often leads to emotional sensitivity in the part of the teenager, and may cause him to experience examples of conflict to be listed later.

Because the teenage chapter is much like a bridge between childhood and adulthood, it is where the responsibilities will start to make their way into the individual. And because they have just come out of the childhood stage, the teenager will most likely feel inadequate for the big world and will tend to act childish so as not to be asked to handle such adult tasks. . Rape - It is also a known fact that the teenage stage also means the raging of hormones. It is essential for teenagers to be taught the proper ways of addressing this, and how to differentiate between right and wrong.

. Self-inflicted pain - When a teenager is depressed, it is possible for him or her to inflict physical pain on himself or herself so as to be distracted from the heavier emotional pain. Appropriate measures should be undertaken by those concerned, before the teenager does something more extreme such as suicide.

. Internet bullying - Teenagers who feel lonely and unwanted by their peers are more likely to seek solace on virtual relationships with the help of the internet. There is really nothing wrong with this, but great care must be given to children who spend too much time with their Internet friends, because they are at a greater risk of being bullied by anonymous people.

. Dangerous recruitment rituals - Sororities and fraternities in an university community are popular because all teenagers have one thing in common, which is to belong to something close to a family. It's quite a horrific fact that once in a while a teenager dies while in the process of being recruited, due to the extreme conditions he was made to suffer.

Seeing all these extreme cases of behavior should not keep you from trying to support a teenager.
